The eagerly-awaited Tombstone is the latest must-have apparatus for any grip-enthusiast's arsenal. Not only does it exactly replicate the feel and shape of the popular adjustable European pinch set-up by using the same materials and dimensions on a more economical and portable scale; it also offers you far greater versatility as a training tool, and can be used as an add-on to the Vulcan gripper (or any other nutcracker gripper, with more limited range). Coming in at nearly half the price of the original pinch apparatus, which is now widely considered the 'blue ribbon' grip event, the Tombstone is an affordable way to train effectively for a high-class competition-standard pinch lift.
Cost: £69.99 pounds sterling (Vulcan not included!)

The Thumbscrew - the knockout pinch converter for grippers!
A new grip product designed by enthusiast Bill Hays. Bill has kindly licensed us to produce his 'V-pinch developer' for the benefit of others. We think it's a great idea and are sure you will too - thanks Bill!
The Thumbscrew is an innovative new device that allows you to squeeze yet more benefit from your Vulcan adjustable gripper. The two sleeves fasten easily onto the end of the handles of your Vulcan (or other nutcracker style gripper) and allow you to exercise a greater range of motion for your thumb - hugely beneficial for increasing your pinch lifting power. Can be used with your existing Vulcan spring or simply with a number of elastic bands for lighter micro-loading if this sounds a bit heavy for you. We have also commissioned a new line of lighter springs that will be available to purchase separately and will work with the Thumbscrews for a greater range of resistance.
As an aside, you may want to purchase our lighter springs (Orange or White, which are 40 and 60% weaker spring than the black spring). See below.

The Lock and Load
Our newest training device has been designed especially for armwrestlers, and is set to prove itself the must-have tool for any serious puller. It is a versatile piece of equipment that requires minimal set-up and space and will not only build the strength of your lock but also that of your hand, wrist and forearm. You can get an idea of the range of exercises it is possible to perform using the Lock and Load from watching our video below (please note that the handles used, bar, caribiners and chain are not included). The length of chain and carabiner we use is 138.5cm (54.5") from inside carabiner to inside carabiner.
The Lock and Load is available in two versions, as below:
A. This is the complete Lock and Load which you will need to attach to a backboard (we used an offcut of wood - see pic and video) and then clamp or fasten to the legs of your armwrestling table. The top circular plate moves to numerous different positions to enable you to train from different angles. The pivot sleeve takes the end of an Olympic bar (please get in touch for a quote if you require the Lock and Load made for a 1" training bar), and the set also includes a hook attachment for the furthest end of the bar to attach it to a chain or rope.
B. This slightly cheaper version of the Lock and Load is designed for those of you who have a permanent armwrestling table set-up, and a strong floor to bolt the apparatus to. It can be affixed to the floor (fixings not included) and you can attain the different angles by rotating your table around the Lock and Load. Again, it is designed to take an Olympic bar and includes the hook attachment.
Version A - screwed onto a piece of wood (110cm long) and clamped to the legs of the armwrestling table (below):

This invaluable little tool
is a necessity for every armwrestler's training arsenal - if you ever find yourself mis-matched with your training partner and in need of someone of more equal strength, then the Hand Harness is the best way to get yourself a really good workout. Simply hook a caribiner (not included) into the smaller loop and tie resistance bands, Woody bands or even old tyre inner tubes onto a fixed object (as you can see, we used the struts of our table). Hook the ends of the bands onto your caribiner and slip the larger loop over your hand, and hey presto! Your resistance is significantly increased without restricting your hand movements. Set up as usual and pull away!
Made from heavy duty polyproylene webbing. Will suit a large hand up to 9" around the knuckles; can be custom made if you require a very large size.

If you want to pack on some size on your forearm, get stronger or faster wrists, or need to rehab or even prehab this area, then this tool is for you. An unbelievable smooth, useful and innovative tool, the OrbiGrip is soon going to be known around the strength world. Obviously it has massive value to all strength athletes, but it would also be a must-have training tool for sports like tennis, badminton, squash, climbing, martial arts and golf.
Different ideas with the OrbiGrip.
1. You can do it with your arm out at the side, not supported.
2. Or with your elbow on a table, this is good for armwrestling.
3. Spin the arm for time, or how many revolutions you can do. I do both, 1, 2, 5 or 10 minute spells. Or 500-1,000 revs. Try and beat your previous best.
4. You can spin the arm so it goes inside or outside, you will feel the different areas that both train.
5. Try drop off sets, taking 0.5k off after each 50 reps, starting at the heaviest weight obviously, say 3k. This is NASTY but fun!
6. For rehab, start the spinning off slowly, and then pick the pace up till the limb becomes warm, and then stop. Do this 4-5 times a day. After a week or so of this, force more blood into the area with a faster 300 revolutions, and then hold the arm aloft to allow the blood to leave, and then repeat again. This moves a lot of blood in and around the area.

[If you happen to drop your OrbiGrip and the spinning arm’s angle moves, this is easy to sort. Undo the two bolts slightly, and with someone holding the arm level in place, just fasten the bolts back up again. It’s a 30 second job, and easy to do with a helper.]

Handle can be attached to the weights by either thick rope or chain and by a carabiner (as pictured). The weight pictured here is 28lb (being thrown by Nick McKinless in training) but you can load the weight to your requirements. Please be sure when buying chain/carabiner for the ring that you get one that is strong enough for the weight that you will be throwing (easily found in your local DIY/hardware store). In 1991 David Horne promoted the British Grip Championships (the very first grip contest), which also is the longest running grip competition on the planet. These DVDs are copied from the original VHS tapes, which were taken on old video recorders. As you would expect the video quality is not great and it is in an unedited format. However, these DVDs are a rare and invaluable insight into the very early days of the sport of grip, and feature some very impressive lifts done by the sport's pioneers.
Amongst the competitors are Steve Sherwood; David Horne; Steve Angell; Chris Moore; John Moore; David Elmer; Frank Allen; Barry Anderson and Bob Howe. Top lifts include: 60kg One Hand Pinch Lift (David Horne); 203kg One Hand Vertical Bar Lift with hook (David Horne); 80kg Middle Fingers Clean and Press (Bob Howe); 110kg Two Hands Pinch Lift (DH); 242.5kg Table Top Wrist Curl (DH); 180kg Middle Fingers Hacklift (DH).
The Vulcan hand gripper is a fantastic new training device that is designed to allow your gripper crushing prowess to progress slowly and steadily from strength to strength without having to buy more and more grippers - it will take you from the lightest rehab training right up to the heaviest gripper close all in one package! The lightest setting is easier than the Trainer and the heaviest is harder than the equivalent of a #4. Adjustable nutcracker-style gripper with smooth action (no skew) solid steel handles and numerous settings (11 notches each side - see picture).
The first batch of the grippers are marked with a 1 on the handle end to indicate that they are from the first batch ever produced.

UPDATE 18/12/07 - Today my 18 month old daughter Lucy had a go with the Vulcan Hand Gripper. You ask how? Well very simply really, I took the spring off and replaced it with a rubber band and hey presto a gripper for a baby! So she now can play, as that's what she's doing, with the same gripper I will be using to advance to close a #4.
Also with this rubber band idea, you can micro load even more. Rather than just moving the spring up one notch, which is a small increase anyway, you could just add an elastic band!
A pair of these converters will give you a fantastic piece of new training equipment for a great price. Each one can be bolted onto most sizes of car wheel* (we bought our wheels for £5 from the local scrapyard), and consists of a sleeve that will fit snuggly over the end of an Olympic or 2" axle bar, providing you with perfectly upright, bouncing rubber discs. They look impressive too! Great for strongman training, weightlifting - or for any situation where you need to deaden the noise of your deadlifts.
*70mm between the 4 square studs is needed, and with at least a 2 inch centre hole in the wheel (see pics).
Also available in custom sizing to fit the wheels you are using (ie. Land Rover 5 stud wheels). All I need with the order is a wax rubbing of the wheel hub, including the centre hole and stud holes where the bolts will go.
Available to suit 2" axle/Olympic bar or 1" exercise bar (see photo below). Please specify which you want when ordering. Cost is the same for both.

This is a very cheap way of training your thick bar, and making it very challenging to boot! When I'm using mine, I spray some WD40 on the end of the Olympic bar, and then wipe the excess off. This is where the Slippery Eel handle goes (see photo below), and boy does it spin! I find it a lot harder than the Rolling Thunder, as the spin is faster. The great thing about it is every time you use it you can spray and clean the bar/handle which will keep it spinning as fast. I know it's a piece of pvc piping, but to purchase the minimum length from most hardware shops will be far more expensive. Diameter is 56mm, 2.2".

This is a revolutionary new piece of equipment that will save you a fortune in bending steel and massively improve your reverse bending technique. Mimics the motion of a reverse bend and provides the opportunity for volume training without the expense of multiple pieces of steel. It is for Reverse bending style only, and not manufactured for the double overhand or underhand styles.
High quality all-steel construction, with two 12mm bar ’ends’ that are tensioned by a selection of springs. The range of motion on the machine will take you from the start position of a straight bar through to a 45 degree bend in a single movement, and then
back to the straight bar again to start on reps! Move the springs along the notches to increase the poundage of the bend - or back again to make it easier. A fully adaptable and practical piece of apparatus suitable for any home or commercial gym.
Use your own bending wraps for the ends of the bars, or contact me if you need them. Please specify which of the three springs you would like supplied with the Wrist Developer. Original, 10% weaker, or 20% weaker. If you would like advice on which would best suit your needs, please contact me.

I invented this back in 2004 so that an adjustable pinch lift could be used in the European contests, and so that all hand sizes would be catered for. This was achieved by having hard rubber discs as the inside spacer discs to alter the width of the steel outer discs. These steel outer discs gave the same feel and look of a plated Pinch Lift.
It is cheaper for you to use your own 2" thick bar (ours is 30" long) and collars you already have.

These are a MUST if you are contemplating going to Potarch to attempt to lift the two Dinnie Stones. You will tread the path that many strongmen have taken, including me twice. The first time I lifted them was in 1998 and I used a similar set-up, this was good, but not perfect like these. These have been designed using the exact measurements that I took from the Dinnie Stones when I went up to Scotland a few years ago and lifted them, and a small rectangular attachment has been welded to the bottom of the ring, with a weld that is designed to withstand thousands of kilos of pressure. The rectangle has a hole in the centre onto which the loading pins of the exact height are attached by a wing-nut bolt. See about the Dinnie stones here. See my training here.

Acccording to the fine book 'Sons of Samson' by David Webster, The Rolands were a strongman act active c.1910. It seems these pair were James Findlay and the german Alfred Siegel.
