Rules

New Rule
As of 11 October 2008, I have decided that the gripper for official certifications will be my gripper from Batch 1. I will bring it to all the grip comps in the UK for people to certify on.

I will still keep a seperate list of those who certified previously on their own grippers, and others can still cert on this list either with the red spring or the new red/black spring. See the levels below.

One Hand Vulcan Gripper - 20 mm block close
Competitors will set the gripper down to a 20mm block of wood to measure the gap before the close. You will hold and apply the gauge yourself. Once the gripper is set (the other hand must be kept away from the gripping hand, arm and gripper) close the gripper till the handles touch.

One Hand Vulcan Gripper - credit card close
Competitors will set the gripper down to a credit card to measure the gap before the close. You will hold and apply the card yourself. Once the gripper is set (the other hand must be kept away from the gripping hand, arm and gripper) close the gripper till the handles touch.

For certification purposes the Red spring or Red/Black spring only, unaltered, will be used.

So that everyone is playing by the same rules, we shall use the gripper with the numbered handle in the fingertips (this is the handle with the number on the bottom and has the two metal plates attached).

The spring levels with a Red spring are;

All crushing claims of LEVEL 7 and above should be accompanied with a video (Youtube, or sent to me, etc) unless it was done in a ratified contest. This video should clearly show the position of the spring and the closure. Closures below this are submitted by the honour system.

I reserve the right to fail any attempt if I do not think it has passed all the criteria.
