My friend Roger Davis has unearthed another stone of strength, this time in North Wales. In fact I have gone on holiday a couple of miles from it on numerous occasions, and din't know it was there.
Here's Roger's account in the newspaper.

Here's the info and rules at the Hall.

Rules for lifting the Garreg Ochest Feat Stone
1.Treat the stone with respect.
2.No lifting aids, straps etc may be used.
3.No “Tacky” or sticky substances.
4.Chalk may be used.
5.Replace the stone where you have found it.
6.Be proud of your attempt if you have given your best.
7. Sign the guestbook to build the legend of the stone.

Yes it is.
A few guys are lining up a go at this on facebook, and I've been chatting with them.
Looks like it'll be Saturday March 3, 2012.
I think a few of us will go, and stay at the caravn park just down the road at Black Rock sands.

Think it could be a great trip away.

I have ambitions to go to Scotland and lift some stones but I'm not even wasting money on that one - too big!

From Roger Davis - Criccieth stone has now been officially weighed at 177.5kg, I estimated 160 -180kg so not too far out ... thats one big stone!

I was there yesterday with the wife and kids and it is a big stone, think egg shaped type, moved it a bit but due to knee injury didn't try full on, as I'm close by i'll get some photo's for scale.

Great addition to the forum Dave, lots of stones around here

Jon,
Yes some photos linked here would be superb.
Yes Roger Davis is researching a lot in Wales, and finding great stones wioth great histories, and the locals seem to want them to get recognition.

My training for this stone starts next week, and I hope to hoist it on March 3rd, 2012.

Will you still be in Wales then, if so be great to see you there?
